Holiday ProgrammeKainga Aroha provides heaps of fun every school holidays.Trips and camps cater for young people aged 7 to 14. These are varied and include options such as kayaking, visits to Auckland Zoo, snow trips, bush walks, beach days, craft days and lots more. Camps are usually for four days at various locations. All the leaders who accompany each trip are vetted and have ongoing training. "But we are always in need of more leaders - especially males!" Subsidy money is available to help with costs, and families are simply invited to pay what they can afford towards the trip. A 2001 CYF review of Kainga Aroha's systems said "the agency is to be admired for the level of commitment they show towards ensuring children attending programmes are safe and well cared for."
